"I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then."
I've been thinking a lot about blogging lately; not so much for the sake of giving updates on my life, but simply for the sake of having a place to pour out my thoughts. It's been a long time since I've written much of anything. In November I signed up for nanowrimo and wrote not a single word. I've had plenty of thoughts, experiences, and maybe even the occasional bout of inspiration, but absolutely no motivation (or, more accurately, discipline) to record any of it. Thanks to some grand breakthroughs in modern technology in our household (i.e. a new laptop,) blogging has become a much more convenient and attainable endeavor.
I briefly considered just picking up on my old blog, Love, Lauka, but I haven't written there in years and I am not the same person that wrote there. Sure, we share plenty of similar qualities, Lauka and I, but three years is an awful lot of growing time. And perhaps I'll bring some of my writings from there to here, because some of them were verging on damn good, but generally, this blog will be about the most recent version of myself. Here you'll find a fumbling mish-mash of wit and fiction and a love story and honesty and maybe just a dash of depravity (if you're lucky.)
My goal is to post every day, BUT I make no promises because they would just be begging to be broken. I don't want to dive in too deeply today, but I'll make a quick introduction. I suppose the most significant life change over the past few years would be that I met, dated, and married my favorite human and very best friend, Josh Larson. We tied the not on October 24th, 2012 and followed it up with much dancing, drinking, and merriment! Here, look...

You'll now find us at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. It's been a hell of an adventure and I'm sure I'll be writing about it later.
But I'll leave it there for today. It's enough to know that the writer in me is being revived. Hello again, old friend.
